Camping le Ruisseau

Ecology at the campsite

Le Ruisseau campsite is located in Gouaux, in a magnificent, typically Pyrenean village set back from the road in a veritable mountain setting. It’s located in an unspoilt environment, where respect for the environment is natural and essential to us. Every day, we take action to preserve this natural environment.

Our responsible purchasing policy :

You’ll find a whole range of environmentally-friendly soaps, shampoos, loofahs, balms, shower gels, etc., made by a local artisan and without harmful ingredients.

We also sell grocery products from local producers in the South-West, to promote a short circuit, just like our wine, which comes from a local producer.

Our beer is handcrafted and locally produced, to promote a short circuit as well.

Our burgers and pizzas, on sale at the snack bar, are made as much as possible with local produce. The goat’s cheese used in our dishes comes directly from the Gouaux goat farm.

Water management :

The village of Gouaux is self-sufficient in water, which means that we are extremely vigilant about our consumption, and this explains why we have chosen not to have a swimming pool, but to offer free activities instead. We run a campaign to raise awareness of the need to respect water among all our tourists, through our posters, our explanations at the welcome drink, our welcome booklet and our digital welcome booklet.

Our collective washing machine, validated by ADEME, uses less water.

We prefer flowers/plants, which require little water.

We are currently studying the possibility of recycling shower water in our network.

Waste management :

At the campsite, you’ll find a composter, bio-buckets and waste sorting bags in every mobile home and available to everyone.

Like everywhere else, we recycle your used batteries, light bulbs and empty camping-gas bottles.

Our hospitality/other ports are all served in ecocups. We make every effort to reduce individual packaging wherever possible.

Amandine, an artist with a diploma from the Ecole des Beaux-Arts, specializes in works made from recycled materials. She’ll introduce you and your children to her promising art.

Energy savings/reduction in consumption :

We use a maximum of solar and/or LED lighting.

Our ADEME-certified washing machines and heat pump dryers are specially designed to consume very little energy.

Our team is very sensitive to environmental protection, and incorporates this eco-responsible spirit into its work every day.

We also use an electric cart and bicycle.

To enable us to meet the additional costs incurred by these actions, we have introduced an eco-share of 0.40 cts euros/person/night. We hope you will understand and become more aware.
